Our annual celebration of milling heritage has been cancelled.

We visit the exhibition at the William Morris Gallery in Walthamstow, London which shows another strand of Morris' influence on modern design.

We wrote a comprehensive letter of advice strongly objecting to a number of key aspects of major re-ordering of this medieval church, notably raising and covering the beautiful historic floor to install underfloor heating and create level access.

This Grade II listed water mill on the River Test was devastated by fire in 2018. We commented on detailed plans for its repair and were delighted that traditional techniques and materials would be used and that a team of highly skilled craftspeople have been involved.

In November we held a working party at St Andrew’s, our Old House Project in Kent. With the help of over 30 keen volunteers and experts the building and its garden have been transformed.

Throughout her distinguished career, Catherine has been a tireless advocate for the relevance and care of places of worship, building conservation and the work of the SPAB. 

We're delighted to have lent a treasure from our archive to the current exhibition at Dovecot Studios in Edinburgh, which explores May Morris' life and work. 

Two architecture graduates have jointly won the SPAB's the Philip Webb Award for schemes proving that with imagination and sensitivity you don’t need to demolish historic buildings.
