Frequently asked questions

Can I join the SPAB from outside the UK?
Yes! We welcome members from all over the world. Please sign up using this form here.

I'm an existing member. How do I renew?
You'll hopefully have been sent renewal reminders by email or post. The email reminders contain a personalised link that you can use to renew your membership online. You can also renew by logging in and then clicking on the red welcome back button in the top right corner. Click 'view profile' in the dropdown list and you'll be able to renew your membership from there.

Can I pay by cheque or direct debit?
You can! Please download this PDF form and return it to us.

Can I pay monthly?
You can! We've launched monthly direct debit payments in 2023 and, unlike many membership organisations, we won't penalise you for opting to pay monthly instead of annually. You'll pay the same amount overall for your yearly membership. Please use our monthly direct debit form to sign up. Existing members can also use this form to switch to monthly payments when they renew.

Do you offer a membership for students or retirees?
We don't have a dedicated membership for students or seniors any longer. But we do offer concessions for those earning less than £18,500 per year after tax. There are more details here.

How do I join SPAB Ireland / SPAB Scotland / a Regional Group?

Members living in Ireland or Northern Ireland automatically become members of SPAB Ireland when they join the main SPAB. Similarly, members living in Scotland are automatically members of SPAB Scotland

If you live somewhere else, you can still subscribe to SPAB Ireland and SPAB Scotland's email newsletters and attend their events

All members receive the same magazine and have access to all the other benefits of membership, such as the property list and online events. All membership administration is handled centrally by our small membership team.

When you join as a member, you'll also have the option to choose which Regional Groups you would like to hear from. You don't have to live in that area to subscribe to emails.
