Join the Wales and Marches Group for an exclusive guided visit to Hellens Manor in Much Marcle, one of Herefordshire’s remarkable historic houses. The Manor will be opened specially for SPAB members on this day, and the visit includes lunch.

The visit will begin with tea, coffee and biscuits before attendees divide into two groups for guided tours of the house. Each tour will last approximately 75 minutes, with start times staggered by 15 minutes.

Hellens is a historic house with associations spanning centuries of English history. Among its features are heirlooms associated with Anne Boleyn, a bed chamber prepared for Queen Mary Tudor, the panelled Music Room with its English Renaissance frieze, and paintings by Gainsborough, Van Dyck, Peter Lely and Goya. Visitors will also hear the story of former resident Hetty Walwyn.

Following the tours there will be lunch (included). Attendees will then have free access to explore the grounds and sculpture park.

There is ample on-site parking.

Please note that the tour includes cobbled paths, uneven surfaces, steps over thresholds and two staircases, both of which have handrails.
