Join the Wales and Marches Group on a visit to Acton Scott Hall, a private residence recently refurbished by the family who inherited the property.
This Grade II* Elizabethan manor house is set in the Shropshire hills and boasts sumptuous oak-panelled reception rooms with Jacobean woodwork and friezes, unique fireplaces and fascinating family heirlooms.
There will be guided tours of the house, garden, and grounds.
You will need
Please wear sturdy shoes if you’d like to join the tour of the gardens and grounds tour. Light refreshments will be provided and for lunch you’re welcome to bring a packed lunch or purchase one from the award-winning café in town nearby.
How to get there
The address is Acton Scott Hall, Church Stretton, Shropshire, SY6 6QQ. The nearest station is Church Stretton. There is plenty of car parking available at the Hall.
Accessibility
On this visit you can expect significant periods of standing and walking, sometimes on uneven surfaces. Some seating will be available if needed.
The main house reception rooms and gardens can be accessed on the level via gravelled paths and a gently sloping path. There are some uneven flagstones in the basement. Walks to the rock garden are not suitable for wheelchairs or walking aids. There are accessible toilets and car parking spaces.
