Join us on a visit to Torre Abbey, the best-preserved medieval monastery in Devon and Cornwall.
The project focuses on the repair of the building envelope, including removal of cement render and renewal in lime, extensive repairs to sash windows to improve the internal conditions, and comprehensive repair of the 14th-century gatehouse.
The team is also carrying out repairs to the courtyard walls and tower, with re-expression of the Gothick façade, and investigation and repair of the 1776 Roman Catholic chapel, inserted within a medieval dining hall.
The event price includes admission to the Abbey for a full day if attendees wish to visit the rest of the house and gardens. Lunch can be bought from a cafe onsite.
