Join the London Group for a tour of the Palace of Westminster with conservation architect Matt Woollven from the House of Commons. This is a unique opportunity to explore one of the most iconic landmarks in British history.
The Palace of Westminster is a fascinating blend of history and architectural beauty. With its impressive spires and intricate stone carvings, the Palace is one of the most significant and coherent monuments of neo-Gothic architecture.
We will have the chance to admire Westminster Hall, a remarkable example of medieval craftsmanship and a key monument of the Perpendicular style. We will gain insights into the ongoing efforts to conserve the building's significant architectural features and its rich heritage. We will also discover the intricate restoration work being undertaken to safeguard this historic building for future generations.
Join us for a drink after the tour in a local pub.
Please do not bring large bags with you as we will have to go through security to enter the building.

4.45pm | Meet on St Margaret Street in front of the Cromwell Green Entrance. Expect 15 minutes to clear security. |
5pm | Tour begins |
7pm | Drinks at a nearby pub |

Accessibility
Most of the building has step-free access and there are step-free tour routes available. Please email membership@spab.org.uk if you would like to arrange this.
There are a few seating opportunities during the tour, and foldable chairs available.
Induction loops are also available.
