Event details

Following the success of our Edinburgh Bar Tours, we are delighted to invite you to the first of our Historic Bar Socials. The first Thursday of every month we will be choosing a historic Edinburgh drinking establishment for an informal meet up of SPAB members and associated friends. The aim of the event is to bring together SPAB Scotland members and non members to discuss all things conservation over a pint, with the historic settings also sparking some discussion.  We hope in future to expand to other Scottish cities, so please let us know of interesting bars near you!

On Thursday 5th July we will be meeting at the White Hart Inn (White Hart Inn, 34 Grassmarket, Edinburgh, EH1 2JU) from 6pm onwards. We won't be reserving an area but will hopefully be able to commandeer an area, and look out for a SPAB membership leaflet on the table if you aren't familiar with any other SPAB members.

Coined Edinburgh's oldest surviving public house, the White Hart Inn has cellarage from 1516 and the rest of the building is dated 1740. A little more about the history of the pub can be found at: http://www.scotlandspubsandbars.co.uk/location/the-white-hart-inn/

Booking is not required, but please email us if you would like further information or to let us know you will be there!
