Harwich Town and Redoubt Trip
Harwich Town and Redoubt Trip
£7.00 to include a walking tour
Event details
Sunday, 1 July 2018 at 11:15 am.
The Fenland and Wash Regional Group invite you to join a visit to the historic town of Harwich.
The Harwich Society will be our hosts for the day, which will include a walking tour of the historic town in the morning, followed by a visit to the Redoubt fort where we will be received by the volunteers responsible for the extensive regeneration of the fort. The visit provides the opportunity to see what is believed to be the largest ancient monument in the country being restored by a private group, and it will undoubtedly be interesting to see how the project is developing.
Please book using the form below and join us at the Harwich Society Visitor Centre on Ha'penny Pier on Harwich Quay at 11:15am. We are accepting online payment or payment on the day for this event.
Due to a delay in works starting on site, the visit to the Electric Palace will be deferred to September/October 2018.
About the Fenland & Wash Regional Group
The group was set up by a number of enthusiastic members in 2003 to promote SPAB philosophy amongst homeowners and those who work on old buildings. Our area loosely covers Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and South Lincolnshire, although some events are outside this area.
