Sussex Group visit to Firle Place
Friday 24 October, 10am – 1pm
The SPAB Sussex Group invites you to Firle Place for an exclusive guided visit. Alan Soutar, Clerk of Works, will lead us around this extensive historic estate, highlighting major conservation work completed over the last three years and outlining future projects.
Our visit will include the main manor house, where external and internal repairs have recently been carried out, as well as the Riding School (now an events venue) and several garden buildings, including possibly the Ravilious greenhouse.
The tour will conclude with a buffet lunch in the estate tearoom, offering the chance to continue discussions in a relaxed setting.
You will need
Please wear suitable footwear and clothing.
How to get there
Firle Place is signposted from the A27, between Lewes and Eastbourne. Please note that satnav may misdirect you. Follow signs to Firle Place, turn left at the crossroads to the main gate, and proceed along the drive. Parking is on the right once you pass the house (What3Words: formally.enthused.picked). We will meet at the front of the building.

The tour will involve some walking and standing.
