York Handmade Brick Co Ltd are a brick manufacturer of handmade, imperial, special shaped or textured, long format or bespoke bricks. The company also makes brick pavers for gardens and terracotta floor tiles. The company makes up to 3 million bricks per year from the local Vale of York lacustrine clay from the tertiary geological period. There are 21 trained craftsmen employed in the factory to throw, set and draw bricks which can be made to bespoke as sizes, colours, textures and shapes if the brick the customer requires is not available from our extensive range of products.
Meet at the factory at 12.15, where a light lunch will be served. This will be followed by a tour of the factory from 1.00 - 3.00pm.
You will need to wear a high vis vest if possible and wellies are recommended.

Multiple bookings
As long as there is space on the event, we usually allow you to book for both yourself and a guest. When completing the booking form, you will be asked to select the number of people and put in your own details on the first page, then to put in your second person's details on the next page. The event fee shown on each of these pages is for the individual person - you will be shown the total amount due once you get to the summary page.
About the Yorkshire, Lancashire and Cheshire Regional Group
Launched in 2006 at the King’s Manor in York, the SPAB Yorkshire Regional Group now organises events and visits across Yorkshire, Lancashire and Cheshire. We work with both homeowners and the managers of large public and private estates. We rely on the generosity of skilled craftspeople who volunteer their time for visits to sites where work is in progress and for opportunities for hands-on participation, which help to demonstrate and promote the SPAB philosophy of conservation and repair.
