Practical Flour Milling

A day spent gaining hands-on experience of running a mill and learning about flour and how to mill.

This popular one-day course is being held again at Fosters Windmill, Swaffham Prior. The day will be spent gaining hand-on experience of running the mill under the careful supervision of a highly skillled, traditional miller. The course includes practical experience of starting, stopping and operating a mill safely, moving grain around the mill, milling different types of flour, dressing flour and bagging up.

This instructive and enjoyable day will consider the needs of artisan bakers and provide insights into selling flour, and will also look at the food and hygiene and trading standards regulations that relate to milling and selling flour.

The course price includes course notes, lunch and refreshments during the day.
