Kent and Surrey Group celebrate National Mills Weekend

Saturday 9 May 10.30am to 3.30pm

Join the Kent and Surrey Group on a visit to two East Kent Mills and learn more about the workings of these mills and the future of Kent Mills.

At Chillenden Mill, the group will be led by Paul Allen, the mill manager, and at the White Mill, Sandwich, a trustee will guide us round the Mill, its extensive outbuildings and the repair shop. This will be a fascinating tour and an opportunity to discuss the problems of our Mill heritage in the twenty first century and review some of the solutions. 

There will be a free return shuttle bus operating from the White Mill into the historic town of Sandwich during the visit for those who wish to use this service.

There is limited parking at Chillenden on the grass.
At White Mill there is free parking onsite and across the road. 

Accessibility

At Chillenden Mill there are no toilets and it is not accessible for those of reduced mobility.
There is a grass track to the Mill where visitors may park their vehicle. 

At White Mill, Sandwich, there is onsite parking and toilets and refreshments available.
