Historic Buildings Parks & Gardens Event 2026

Friday 13 November 9am-5pm

A free day-long event for everyone in the historic buildings, landscape conservation and heritage sectors - home owners, guardians, volunteers and professionals.

The Historic Buildings, Parks and Gardens Event (HBPGE) is held annually in parallel with the Historic Houses Annual General Meeting. The event has been running for over 35 years.

Owners, guardians, volunteers, professionals management staff and advisers involved with historic buildings (private, commercial, industrial, Grade I listed buildings, cathedrals, churches, manor houses, windmills, historic town centres), parks, gardens and historic landscapes. All are welcome.

Come and say hello to the SPAB team in the exhibition hall, book in advance for a a chat with our Technial Advisors and come along to SPAB specialist talks and demos

  • Pointing and Render on Historic Buildings: Getting It Right; Douglas Kent, SPAB Technical & Research Director
     
  • Plaster Recipes and Mixes, and Stucco Repair; by SPAB Fellows, Matthew James and Tom Jones. Matt will be showing a variety of plaster recipes and mixes of sands, aggregates and fibres. Tom’s demo looks at the process of repairing damage to an angle or moulding on a Roman Cement Stucco Panel.

The combination of the HBPGE exhibition with over 75 stands, Historic Houses guest speakers, live demonstrations and short talks make for an interesting and rewarding day for everyone.
