The next Notts and Derbys SPAB visit will take us to two places of interest in Derby – the Museum of Making and the Market Hall.

Andy Leask, a local member who many of you will know, has been able to take advantage of his contacts to arrange a varied visit to these venues.

The provisional programme is:
10 am arrive at Museum
10.30 am Introduction from Tony Butler CEO of the Museum, followed by self- guided tour.
12.30 pm Buffet lunch at the Museum
2.30 pm arrive at the Market Hall to hear talks by: Phil Derbyshire (Head of Projects at Derby City Council); Andrew Shaw of Lathams (Architect for the Project) and Andy Leask (Rodgers Leask Ltd Consulting Engineers)

Parking is available at the Assembly Rooms close to both venues but the Museum is able to validate tickets so that all-day parking will only cost £2.50

The cost of the visit is £15, which includes lunch.

About the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regional Groups
The Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Group is a mix of professionals and interested amateurs, some of whom joined the SPAB when they became owners of old houses, large and small. This means that a wide range of backgrounds is represented and we are pleased to see younger members participating. All share the common thread of wanting to support the work of raising awareness of our building heritage within a wider audience while extending their own knowledge and skills.
