Join the Sussex Group on a visit to the Jacobean-style Foxhunt Manor in Waldron, East Sussex.
This Grade II listed house dates from 1898-99 and is part of an estate of similarly designed buildings. Originally a single dwelling home, it became a preparatory boarding school in 1935 and then a convent in 1959. It is now being repaired by its current owners, Paul Wong and his partner Martin Johnson, who run an antiques business from the former refectory.
Hear from Paul and the newest Sussex Group committee member, Lisa Fisher, who has worked on the conservation project as a consultant, before touring the building.
This is a unique opportunity to visit a privately owned house, not normally open to the public. Many thanks to Paul and Martin for opening their home for this event.
Practicalities
To get to the property, follow signs for Foxhunt Manor (not Old Foxhunt Manor) from the road between Waldron and East Hoathly. Take the second turning, drive past the front of the house and park in the car park on the far side.
