Event details
As part of the COP26 Climate Change Conference, SPAB Scotland will be creating a pop-up office for two days in the Tobacco Merchant's House, where the Scottish Civic Trust are based. Come and visit to talk about climate change, adaptive reuse, retrofitting of existing buildings, our energy efficiency research and much more. We will have some SPAB publications for sale, and various free literature so do come up and browse!
On hand to chat with will be Lucy Stewart and Jamie McNamara.
Lucy is a conservation architect, registered with the AABC and on the RIAS conservation register. She was an SPAB Scholar in 2009, and has worked for the SPAB since 2010, first in their casework department, then as a technical advisor and most recently as Scotland Officer.
Jamie holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Building Repair & Conservation, an MA in Conservation of the Historic Environment and is also currently undertaking an MSc in Building Surveying. He has worked with the conservation of canals and churches, city regeneration schemes and within the traditional skills area. He currently advises on large infrastructure projects. A current SPAB Trustee, Guardian and full member of the IHBC,
We will be 'in residence' on 2nd and 3rd November, and will welcome visitors at the following times:

12 noon - 3pm - Architects Day - please drop in if you're an architect, or want to know more about our research into climate change issues. Homeowners and others of course welcome too!
Wednesday 3rd November
12noon- 3pm - Students Day - please drop in if you're a student interested in how you can help make a greener future. Homeowners and others of course welcome too!
This is a FREE event!
We may have to operate a 'one-in, one-out' policy to maintain social distancing within the building.
ONLINE
We will also be offering online advice and historic buildings chat as part of the IHBC Helpdesk+. This is an online event, so even if you are not able to come to Glasgow, you can still 'drop in' and say hello to SPAB Scotland.

This event supports the IHBC Helpdesk+, an online forum open every day from Oct 31st - Nov 12th, 3-8pm. Both IHBC and SPAB will have special feature events throughout the fortnight, so please visit us virtually!
About SPAB Scotland
Members of the SPAB living and working in Scotland decided to form their own semi-autonomous group in 1995. Scotland has its own building traditions, architectural language and property laws, all of which are best dealt with locally. All members of the SPAB residing in Scotland are automatically members of SPAB Scotland.
