Event details
Step back in time and discover Scotland’s rural history at Auchindrain, the most complete and well-preserved example of a Scottish Highland farm township. Vividly imagine life in the old Highlands as you walk through the settlement and see how ordinary people lived and worked. Step into the restored longhouses, see the objects of everyday life and learn about the past inhabitants. Explore the byres, stables and fields to understand how groups of families worked the land in common. Uncover a fascinating, long-vanished Scottish way of life deep in the hills of Argyll.
This special SPAB Scotland tour will involve expert tourguides Bob Clark, Karen Baird and architect Martin Hadlington, and inlcudes a simple hot soup & cake lunch.
This event is hosted jointly by SPAB Scotland and SPAB Ireland, who are visiting Scotland for the weekend. You will have a chance to meet many members of both committees, so this is a wonderful opportunity to get to know the wider SPAB in a relaxed format.
PLEASE BRING:
- Good footwear - you'll be on your feet much of the day
- Wet weather clothes - we're in the west afterall!
- Additional food - we will provide hot soup & cake, but please supplement this with anything else you would like for the day, remembering that we have two coach trips of approximately 90 minutes. Don't forget a water bottle.

The event fee shown on each of these pages is for the individual person - you will be shown the total amount due once you get to the summary page.
