Saturday, 27 October, 9.30 am – 3.30pm

A one day training course organised by the St Margaret’s Townscape Heritage King’s Lynn and  delivered by Cliveden Conservation. The morning will include presentations covering the historic uses and chemistry of lime, its use with local materials in Vernacular buildings, inappropriate modern mortars and the damage they cause, types of lime mortars and how to specify them and some recent research and the hot lime revival. After lunch will be practical demonstrations covering different aggregate choices, pozzolans and other additives for lime mortars and a hot lime demonstration. Students will then mix their own mortar and use it for pointing.

Cost: £10 morning only or £20 Full Study Day (to include refreshments and a light lunch)
