Join the Yorkshire Regional Group on an afternoon of visits to York Minster and Clifford’s Tower. At the Minster we will meet Alex McCallion, Director of Works and Precinct, for a tour of the new Centre of Excellence for Heritage Craft Skills and Estate Management.

At Clifford’s Tower we will have a tour of the castle site led by Project Manager Rachael Baldwin-Gledhill of Lantern Heritage, who will talk us through the £5m conservation and enhancement project completed in 2022.

Both tours will provide opportunities to view the projects at close hand, learn about the objectives and outcomes in each case, and take part in live Q&A discussions with the tour leaders.

There will be time at the end of the visit to join an informal social at a pub nearby.

As thanks to our hosts, a portion of ticket prices are being donated to York Minster Fabric Fund and English Heritage (registered charities).

You will need

Prepare for changeable or inclement weather and wear appropriate footwear. Any necessary PPE/high vis. will be provided if required.

Lunch or refreshments will not be provided on this visit.
