‘Hidden in Plain Sight’ – The survival of Domestic Architecture in Dublin in (1660 – 1714) Identification, Characteristics and Repair
Nicola Matthews from Ireland's Department of Housing, Local Government, and Heritage joined us for a look at a collaborative research project, investigating the survival of 17th and early 18th century domestic buildings in Dublin. The research has brought together many different areas of expertise to identify and repair the buildings, which are often disguised behind newer fabric. While research is ongoing, key identifying characteristics are emerging that should help to recognise important survivals in Dublin and elsewhere in Ireland.
