Start your own maintenance co-operative

The Maintenance Co-operatives Project came to a close in March 2017, having set up over 32 Maintenance Co-operatives across the country and five 'Co-op Minis'. If you've been inspired by the work of the project you can, of course, start your own Maintenance Co-operative to look after your historic place of worship.

Visit our Maintenance Co-operative Project and Faith in Maintenance resources page to find help and advice on structuring your co-operative, putting together a tool kit, templates for maintenance plans and technical advice on common problems with old buildings.

You can also watch our Maintenance Co-operatives Project short film and download the project evaluation to find out how others have done it. Add a bit of enthusiasm and, of course, some tea and cake and you will be ready to go.
