NEW! Best Loved Award

NEW! Best Loved Award

Maintenance has always been an important part of the SPAB’s Approach to conservation. William Morris said it best in the SPAB Manifesto: ‘stave off decay by daily care’. His words still guide the SPAB today and that’s why the SPAB Best Loved Heritage Award recognises and celebrates examples buildings that have been kept in good repair.

This award not only recognises the building itself but also the owners, managers, professionals, practitioners and volunteers involved in carrying out regular maintenance and looking after the building.

There are two categories, private (e.g. house, garden building) and public / community building i.e. buildings that are either publicly owned or readily accessible to the public (e.g. village hall, community asset building, faith building, pub, shop) . The final winners of the SPAB Heritage Best Loved Award will be voted for by the public.

If you or your business would like to sponsor this award we'd love to hear from you. Contact kate.streeter@spab.org.uk or call directly on 07776 201484.
