Event details

SPAB Scotland are coming to you!  We will be choosing a historic drinking establishments across the country for an informal meet up of SPAB members and associated friends. The aim of the event is to bring together SPAB Scotland members and non-members to discuss all things conservation over a pint, with the historic settings also sparking some discussion.

On Thursday 6th September we will be meeting at The Ensign Ewart, 521-523 Lawnmarket, Edinburgh, EH1 2PE from 6pm onwards.

We won't be reserving an area but will hopefully be able to commandeer an area, and look out for a SPAB membership leaflet on the table if you aren't familiar with any other SPAB members.  The event will be hosted by Declan Cahill of Historic Environment Scotland.

The Ensign Ewart sits at the heart of Edinburgh's old town at the top of the royal mile. With a history dating back to 1680 and is named after Charles Ewart, who fought at the battle of Waterloo. The cellars of the building are dated to 1603 but the current building is said to largely resemble the form taken when its construction was completed in 1690.

Booking is not required, but please email us if you would like further information or to let us know you will be there!
