Application deadline extended to 30th September 2021
We are looking for a fundraising professional, with a personal interest in built heritage, to provide expertise and insight on our Board of Trustees and our Advocacy Committee. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with a successful track record in corporate fundraising and partnerships and/ or major donor cultivation. Knowledge across other areas of fundraising would also be beneficial.
All our Board and committee members (known as Guardians) share our passion for built heritage and our approach to conservation. They must be willing to join the SPAB as a member, if they are not already. The SPAB is committed to eliminating discrimination and encouraging diversity. We actively seek to diversify our board and particularly welcome applications by people from backgrounds underrepresented at the SPAB and in the building conservation sector.
This is a fantastic opportunity to have a real influence on the future of our precious built heritage as well as to expand your personal professional development. Whether you are an experienced Trustee or looking to make a first step at board level we would love to hear from you.
Volunteering with the SPAB
Volunteers play a vital role at the SPAB, we currently have over 30 fantastic volunteers who work at our offices in London and regionally fulfilling a variety of duties, from helping us run events, to interpreting the archives and assisting with our enormous volume of casework. Find out how you can get involved with the SPAB. We also have around 90 SPAB Guaridans and 12 Trustees.
We have occasional short term opportunities for volunteers to assist with practical building conservation projects around the UK and in Ireland, including our annual Working Party. These are great opportunities to develop your hands-on skills, alongside a team of experts. If you are interested in hearing when practical volunteering opportunities arise, please sign up here.
The SPAB does not have an internship programme. From time to time we may be able to offer short work experience opportunities for young people (usually school or university students in vacation time), giving an introduction to the variety of tasks the SPAB undertakes and a taster of working within a building conservation charity. If you would be interested in a short placement with the SPAB, please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
There are currently no work experience opportunities available for 2021.
