Visit Fladbury Mill and Cropthorne Mill for a rare opportunity to explore two historic watermills standing opposite each other across the River Avon. Discover how Fladbury Mill harnesses a turbine to generate electricity, while Cropthorne Mill takes a different approach to managing the river’s challenges.

- Please note: Due to the proximity to water throughout the site children must be accompanied by and always remain under the supervision of a parent or responsible adult. We appreciate your understanding in helping us ensure a safe and enjoyable visit for everyone.
- Self-guided tours: No booking needed. Access is limited to certain areas of Fladbury Mill’s grounds and does not extend to all areas included in the guided tour. A step-free route is available, though paths include pebble surfaces, soft turf, and uneven ground. While all are welcome, we recommend the self-guided tour for children aged 8 and above. If younger children are brought along, their safety and supervision remain the responsibility of their parent or guardian.
Facilities & Access
- Refreshments: Tea, coffee, and cake available for purchase. Donations are welcome to help support the event.
- Picnic Area: The grounds will be open for visitors to relax and enjoy the riverside setting.
- Toilets: Limited facilities available at Fladbury Mill. Additional toilets can be found at The Chequers Inn and The Anchor Inn (5 minutes’ walk), but use may be for customers only.
- Access: A step-free route is available, though paths include pebble surfaces, soft turf, and uneven ground.
- Self-guided Tours Access: Limited access within Fladbury Mill’s grounds, with some uneven terrain.
- Children must be accompanied at all times.
Getting Here
- Nearest Train Stations: Evesham & Pershore. There is no public transport from these stations, so visitors will need to arrange a taxi to reach the site.
- Parking:
We have a field set aside for parking
Some roadside parking is available within the village.
Weather & Event Cancellation
Due to the site’s history and being subject to flooding, if an unusually large storm occurs in May before the event, we may have to cancel. We will send out notifications to individuals who have booked guided tours. Please check for updates before your visit.
