Meet the Scholars and Fellows in Manchester

Join the Manchester Regional Group for an informal SPAB in the North pub meet-up in Manchester and chance to meet this year's Fellows and Scholars. It will be a relaxed chance to catch up with members, volunteers and friends. We have reserved a spot in the bar of Dukes 92 in Castlefield near the historic canals in Manchester and hope to see you there! 

Are you a SPAB Member, or thinking about becoming one? Do you love old buildings? Would you like an informal chat about heritage and building conservation?

Come and join us! We’d love to meet up with anyone who has an interest in old buildings, to hear your story and help you connect with others in the sector.

This is a free event and open to all SPAB members as well as anyone within the conservation industry whether a craftsperson or professional. You can buy your own drinks there and are welcome to stay as long as you like.

This will be a very informal evening with no set agenda – we will just let the conversation flow. If you’d like to reserve a spot, please complete the booking form so that we know how many to expect! 

We will also be joined by the 2026 SPAB Fellows (a stonemason, a carpenter, and two plasterers), and the Scholars (two engineers and two architects) who are travelling around the UK this year and will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the adventure. How to get there

Dukes 92, 18-25 Castle Street, Manchester M3 4LZ

There is parking on site and the nearest train station is Deansgate a few minutes away.

Dukes 92 is located approximately 100m along Castle Street, opposite Deansgate Station (junction of Deansgate and Whitworth Street).

Parking instructions from the venue:

Please provide your vehicle registration on entry to qualify for free parking. We offer free parking to our customers on the street outside and in our car park from 11.30am until closing time. At all other times you may receive a parking ticket.

Accessibility

The main venue provides wheelchair-friendly access. It runs an over-21 door policy.
