Our members receive our acclaimed members-only magazine packed with interesting articles on old buildings and their repair, as well as conservation and heritage news. They are welcome to participate in the many Regional Group Events that our volunteer organisers put on across the country and they have access to the Members' Area of the SPAB website, where the Properties List and information about regional activities can be found.
Most importantly, as a SPAB member you join the nearly 9,000 strong membership, who support the work we do to help conserve our historic environment.
…by educating the next generation of heritage professionals
…by campaigning for conservative repair
…by advising homeowners and professionals alike, whilst championing traditional building materials and skills.
The SPAB still works in accordance with the principles laid out in its Manifesto written by William Morris in 1877. SPAB members are expected to support and follow the philosophy of conservation and repair outlined in the Manifesto.
Joining the Mills Section entitles you to participate in the activities of the Section and attend the programme of meetings, lectures and visits. Members receive our newsletter Mill News quarterly, including lists of Mills for Sale. By supporting us you are helping to protect our national heritage of old mills.
