Join the SPAB London Group for a special festive evening combining architectural exploration with seasonal celebration. This event begins with a short guided walk led by SPAB member David Harrison, a familiar and popular guide at our London Group events. David will take attendees on a journey through five centuries of Hackney’s built environment, including a medieval church tower, elegant 18th century houses, the Hackney Empire—described by Pevsner as “among the best-surviving Edwardian suburban variety theatres”—and the striking Art Deco Town Hall.
After the walk, we’ll continue the evening at a nearby venue for our Christmas party. The ticket price includes drinks and finger food, with time to socialise with fellow members, meet the committee, and hear more about our plans for the year ahead.
You will need
Comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing for the outdoor portion.
Accessibility
The walk will be on public streets with limited rest opportunities and facilities.
