Rethinking Place, Production and Power: showcasing the creative re-use of old buildings

11 June 2020, 18:15 - 21:00  CANCELLED

Join us for this evening event where the joint winners of the SPAB’s 2019 Philip Webb Award will present their schemes, both re-introducing semi-industrial uses to former manufacturing sites in an advanced state of dereliction. Taking inspiration from ceramic techniques, Olivia Hellman proposes an urban Dairy Factory in a redundant calcining mill in the Potteries, and Nikola Yanev re-purposes a Yorkshire textile mill to house an algae energy production plant and wetlands education centre (image credit).

Talks will be followed by presentation of the winners’ certificates, exhibition of the winning schemes, and an informal drinks reception.
