Spitalfields Gardens

Spitalfields Gardens: Open Day

This summer the SPAB will be joining forces with other residents of Spitalfields to take part in the National Garden Scheme. On Saturday 10 June, 10am - 4pm, five of the finest merchants and weavers houses in Spitalfields will be opening their doors to show off their beautiful gardens.

Tucked behind a Georgian silk merchant’s house - now the SPAB offices - is a shady courtyard garden. The borders are packed with ferns, hostas, and other shade-loving plants and an old lead cistern and dolly tubs are planted with traditional herbs. A large Magnolia grandiflora is the star. Join us for a colourful day out, visit the ten gardens taking part and chat to our volunteer gardener about managing a shady garden. We will also have a range of plants for sale.
