Notice: Working Party evening event at Eastbury Manor cancelled

Share on:

Regrettably, the evening event at Eastbury Manor working party on Sunday 15 July, 4.30pm-7pm has been cancelled due to attendee numbers.
The SPAB is still holding an open day from 11am-4pm on Sunday 15 July with craft demonstrations and hands-on workshops. Visitors can have a go at traditional carpentry techniques and tile making. Craftspeople will also give blacksmithing, lime slaking, brick laying and pargetting demonstrations. Eastbury Manor will be putting on tours and craft activities on the day too. We hope to see you there.

For anyone hoping to get some insight into the SPAB's work we are offering a small number of 'open sessions' at the working party. We will hold 2 hour sessions during the working party week (11-18 July) where we will talk about the SPAB approach, how the repairs to the historic brick wall at Eastbury have been approached, talk about the selection of mortar, give a tour of the works, give a demonstration of hot lime mortar mixing and let people have a go pointing on a demonstration brick panel. These sessions are planned for the mornings and afternoons of Friday 13 and Tuesday 17 July, and in the afternoon of Thursday 12 July. If you are interested in attending and would like some more information please email Pip Soodeen on
