Mosty Lea Watermill

Mosty Lea Watermill

Watermill

Mosty Lea Mill was built in the early 1700s and was first recorded as a corn mill in 1716; it was converted to flint grinding in 1756. In 1962 the mill ceased production and deteriorated; it was partially restored in the 1980s. Today the mill retains its 20ft pitchback waterwheel, gears, pit wheel and grinding pan. It also has a calcining kiln, three settling arks and a drying kiln.
