The mill at Dunster is a extremely rare surviving example of a working double overshot watermill. The mill is powered by water from the River Avill via an ancient leat one kilometre upstream from the mill. The mill is accessed on foot from Dunster Castle car park. There is no parking at the mill itself.

News & Events:

If you would like to learn more about Dunster Working Watermill and see it in action, then come and visit during National Mills Weekend on the 13th and 14th May when the team will be milling ancient grains between 11 am to 3 pm on both days. There will also be hand quern demonstrations as well as regular tours of the mill throughout the day.  In additon, the Mill Tearoom will be baking bite sized treats of bread rolls and cakes made from our wholemeal flours for you to sample before trying them at our tearoom.
