Saving the Last Major Bellfoundry in Britain

This session of our members' skill-share, led by member Patricia Forero-Senior, will provide a brief introduction to the history of John Taylor & Co in the town of Loughborough. It will also look at how the Loughborough Bellfoundry Trust, with the help of The National Lottery Heritage Fund and other funding bodies, plans to ensure that the craft of bell founding in Britain is not lost.

 

About the speaker

Patricia Forero-Senior is an accredited AABC Conservation Architect with a Master’s degree in Building Conservation from the University of York and a Master’s degree in Building History from the University of Cambridge. During her career, Patricia has worked with many stakeholders and clients in a wide variety of historic buildings, with special emphasis on buildings at risk in the latter years.
