The SPAB launched a series of online CPD sessions in 2020. These short sessions are specially designed to give you a way to easily meet your CPD requirements and improve your understanding of building conservation during your lunch break or in your own time. CPD certificates are available on request.

Understanding the differences between traditional construction methods and materials and post-1919 cavity wall buildings is key to the successful repair and maintenance of old buildings. In this presentation, Douglas Kent, SPAB Technical and Research Director, gives an overview of how traditional buildings were constructed, the materials that were used, and how this affects their performance.
