This one day seminar will explore best practice and current issues in repairing and maintaining historic roofs.

Join the SPAB in Leicester for a one day seminar to discuss current issues and best practice in the care and repair of historic roofs.

Involving expert speakers from across the UK, this course will consider traditional roofing materials, planning of roof repair projects, and present the latest research into the performance of traditional roofs.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Understanding roofing and roofing methods
  • Roofing skills and practice
  • Project planning and design
  • Bats and birds
  • Insulation and thermal upgrades

Case studies from past and present projects will illustrate key principles, challenges and solutions.

Certificates of attendance for CPD purposes will be available on request. SPAB seminars are accredited for CPD by the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC)
