 he SPAB Greater Manchester Group for a very specia
 l talk in their ongoing series\, 'Journey of a Mas
 ter Craftsperson' with this talk on preservation o
 f historic decorative finishes\, in particular\, r
 aised relief wallpapers.</p>\n \n <p>Frank Holmes 
 will share his expertise in repairing some of the 
 UK’s finest surviving Victorian raised-relief wall
 papers\, discussing his career journey from early 
 work as a painter and decorator to his specialism 
 in the rescue and repair of Victorian raised-relie
 f wallpapers\, including Lincrusta\, Anaglypta and
  Tynecastle.<br />\n <br />\n He will showcase his
  projects where he faced multiple challenges and f
 ound the best way to repair or remake the Victoria
 n raised-relief wallpapers and the decoration.<br 
 />\n <br />\n The talk will include close-up examp
 les of historic wallpaper and decoration within Th
 e Britons Protection itself\, giving attendees the
  chance to better understand these materials in co
 ntext. <br />\n <br />\n The Britons Protection is
  one of Manchester’s most distinctive Grade II-lis
 ted pubs\, the 1806 building is known for its Rege
 ncy character\, preserved 1930s interiors\, snug r
 ooms\, terrazzo-tiled corridors\, moulded ceilings
  and vintage bar fittings - a venue where examples
  of these types of wallpaper and decoration can be
  seen\, touched and better understood.</p>\n \n <h
