 a Master Craftsperson' series - a talk by decorati
 ve artist and restorer Phyllis Smith\, who will sh
 are her journey from fine art student to specialis
 t craftsperson working on some of the UK's most am
 bitious conservation projects.<br />\n <br />\n Ph
 yllis Smith\, specialist decorative artist and res
 torer who have worked on many private and public p
 rojects will talk about her journey from early day
 s of her career till today.</p>\n \n <p>Before wor
 king on the Manchester Town Hall project\, Phyllis
  worked on a range of  restoration projects featur
 ing painting styles from different periods\; from 
 Charles Jencks’ famous post-modern cosmic house\, 
 now a museum in London\, to St. Mary’s church in L
 ong Crichel in Dorset where she revived the Victor
 ian wood graining. <br />\n <br />\n Alongside her
  restoration work\, she has applied traditional an
 d contemporary painting styles in various public a
 nd private projects. No stranger to working on big
  ambitious projects in Manchester\, she was part o
 f the team who marbled more than 500 pillars in th
 e new wing of Trafford Centre\, Barton Square. </p
