 evon Group for a fascinating afternoon at Castle D
 rogo\, the dramatic Dartmoor home designed by Sir 
 Edwin Lutyens and widely regarded as the last cast
 le built in England.</p>\n \n <p>This special visi
 t offers a rare opportunity to explore the buildin
 g with members of the National Trust team\, includ
 ing building and collections specialists\, who wil
 l guide us through the architectural ambitions\, c
 onstruction and ongoing conservation challenges of
  this extraordinary early twentieth-century house.
 </p>\n \n <p>The afternoon will begin with an intr
 oductory exterior tour of the castle and chapel\, 
 before time to explore the interiors. Attendees wi
 ll then split into smaller groups for two exclusiv
 e experiences: a behind-the-scenes talk on the “Se
 cret Store” exhibition and the castle’s collection
 s\, alongside a guided roof tour (weather permitti
 ng)\, offering unusual insights into the fabric an
 d maintenance of the building.</p>\n \n <p>There w
 ill be opportunities throughout to ask questions a
 nd discuss the conservation of complex historic bu
 ildings with those directly involved in their care
 .</p>\n \n <p>This event also marks the retirement
  of the Devon Group’s long-serving Chair\, Marian 
 Wood. Please join us at the reception after the to
 ur to recognise her contribution to SPAB. A welcom
 e drink is included in the ticket price.<br />\n <
