 he SPAB conservation approach and offers guidance 
 on how best to tackle common problems and maintain
  the character and value of your home. </p>\n \n <
 p>If you live in or look after a period property\,
  or are a professional who needs to brief their cl
 ients on understanding their old building\, this c
 ourse is ideal for you. The SPAB is an IHBC-recogn
 ised CPD provider and certificates of attendance a

 udes a walking / observation activity in the local
  area to look at different building types and iden
 tify potential maintenance issues.</p>\n \n <h3>Yo
 u will need</h3>\n \n <ul>\n 	<li>You will need to
  wear sturdy (flat and closed) walking shoes for t
 he observation activity. Please wear comfortable l
 ayers of clothing and be prepared for sunshine or 
 rain.   </li>\n 	<li>A notebook and pen (if requir
 ed for note-taking). </li>\n </ul>\n \n <h3>Tutors
  </h3>\n \n <p>The course is presented on behalf o
 f the SPAB by<strong> James Innerdale</strong> and
  <strong>Libby Watts</strong>. James is an accredi
 ted architect\, historic buildings consultant and 
 SPAB Technical Adviser. Libby is a RIBA Specialist
  Conservation Architect\, director of Liberty Rose
  Architects and SPAB Education and Training Guardi
 an. On behalf of the Jersey Building Preservation 
 Trust\, <strong>Antony Gibb</strong> is an histori
 c buildings consultant with a background in archae
 ology\, design\, construction and planning. Antony
  is the founder and a Trustee of the Jersey Buildi
 ng Preservation Trust\, which provides building co
 nservation skills training in Jersey.</p>\n \n <h3
 >Accreditation </h3>\n \n <p>The SPAB is an IHBC-r
 ecognised CPD provider and attendance certificates
  for CPD are available on request.</p>\n \n <h3>Ac
 cessibility </h3>\n \n <p>This is a lecture-based 
 course but includes a 70 minute walking / observat
 ion activity in the local area\, which will requir
 e periods of standing. Public paths may be uneven 
 and narrow during the observation activity. </p>\n
  \n <p>Step-free access to the venue if from the W
 eighbridge corridor entrance via a lift to Member’
 s Room.  </p>\n \n <p>There is an accessible toile
 t on the third floor of the building (accessible b
 y lift).</p>\n \n <p>An audio loop is available.</
 p>\n \n <p>Parking is available nearby at Pier Roa
