SPAB Regional Group Events - organised by members for members

In several counties member-volunteers have formed Regional Groups and they always welcome new people keen to get involved or suggest ideas for activities. Events range from the technical, such as lime days, to the more aesthetic, e.g. a concert in an historic building. On the whole they offer visits to private buildings not normally open to the public and a chance to speak to local historians and owners as well as conservation specialists.

The Regional Groups started in 1994 and the number has grown since. Currently we have a presence in the following regions: Bucks, Berks & Oxon (BBO); Devon; Dorset; Essex; Fenland & Wash; Gloucestershire; Kent & Surrey; London; Wales & Marches; North Wales; Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire; Somerset; Cumbria, Northumberland & Durham; Suffolk; Sussex; and Yorkshire & Lancashire.

There is also SPAB Scotland. All SPAB members who live in Scotland are automatically members of SPAB Scotland and can take part in their events, visits and courses.

If you join the SPAB you will receive contact details and activities of all groups and planned events. All members of SPAB can go along to events organised by any group, provided there is space.

Enriching the List

The List of England's most important historic buildings and places began in 1882, when the first powers of protection were established. You can search every entry for free online. Now Historic England are inviting SPAB members and the wider public to join them in keeping listings of historic buildings rich, relevant and up-to-date. The List is open for you to share your knowledge and photographs of buildings near you with everyone. You can download an information sheet, visit or email to find out more.

Sorry, there are currently no regional events to view for Gloucestershire. Please try another region or visit again later as this area is regularly updated.
