Loch Moidart is a popular destination for sailors and Castle Tioram helps to make Moidart one of the most scenic anchorages on the West Coast.
 
Evidence suggests that the area surrounding castle Tioram was planted in the mid 19th century with non native trees to create a picturesque landscape with the ruin as its focal point.
